On February 11th the MA state legislature is voting on whether or not to pass an amendment to the state constitution that would make gay marriage unconstitutional in the state of massachusetts, illeagalizing it for good in our state, even after all of the progress that has been made. Before that date, on the 5th, which is next thursday, we will have a student rally outside the state house, urging the state senate to vote against the amendment. Every person in attentdance counts, we want our voices heard! I cannot repeat enough how important your participation will be. We plan on having speakers and chants and as many people as possible. everyone is invited to come, it is a student rally, but that in no way means adults are not also welcome. at this month's Inter-school GSA meeting, which had more people in attendance from more schools than ever before, we discussed the need for a rally like this one, as well as disscussing our objectives in this rally. A paid advertisement published recently in the Globe sugeested that marrage should remain opposite sex only for the sake of the children. We are the children. I don't know about you, but i don't want gay marrage illegalized on my account! please join us on the 5th in this rally organized by students of Arlington, Bellmont, Brookline, Needham and CSW. your support is crucial. Thurday February 5th from 4 to 6pm on the side walk outside the state house. Bring signs if you can, and most importatly bring yourselves. a permit has been attained, and some local newspaper's allerted. for more information on the amendment, visit millionformarrage.org spread the word!
thank you,
I hope to see you there!

From transgender issues to animal porn to Special Education, another GSA meeting has been had.

No yeah seriously. Those are the three main topics that where discussed today, trasgender/transvestite/transexual issuses, then there was a brief stint about animal porn when Hannah showed up, and then Special Education and various 504's and IEP's where discussed. And I MAY have hit some people with a chalkboard eraser. BUT YOU WERENT THERE, SO YOU'LL NEVER KNOW. We also watched a movie that MOST of you have probably seen before and if you haven't you should pick it up, its a hoot and a holler mos def. Its called No Dumb Questions, and yeah now that I'm looking at the post DIRECTLY BELOW ME, its also listed there....
way to go Zoe.....
Anyway, its an extremely honest film about a good natured family dealing with Uncle Bill becoming Aunt Barbara. Dont be afraid, its really very sweet and easy to watch. Afterwards we discussed the different levels of transexual transgender transvestite-ness, and the infinite possibilities they encompass. It was an extremely good meeting, I feel very achieved.

And, on that note, I leave you with a deep thought by Jack Handley:

#18: If you ever teach a yodeling class, probably the hardest thing is to keep the students from just trying to yodel right off. You see, we build to that.

Thank you, and goodnight.
